5What can I expect at my first visit?
On the day of your first visit, you will be greeted by our friendly front desk staff when you arrive. We ask that you reserve 45 minutes for your first appointment. You can save time by completing the new patient paperwork online before you arrive. Once your paperwork has been completed and we have made a copy of your photo ID, the doctor will take you back to the exam room to do go over your medical history and do a thorough orthopedic exam. Every case is different, and most patients do not require x-rays on the first visit. Unless contraindicated, you can expect to be adjusted on the first visit. You will then schedule your second visit where the doctor will go over your report of findings with you and discuss your individualized care plan.
6Are x-rays necessary?
Dr. Val combines your medical history and the findings of your exam to determine if x-rays are needed prior to you receiving an adjustment. Most patients can be adjusted without getting x-rays done, but there are some cases where x-rays are needed to make sure it is safe to adjust a certain area.
7Do you provide preventive care?
We do provide preventative treatments! Your spine health is important and just like you see a dentist to prevent issues with your teeth, you can see us to help prevent issues with your spine. Chiropractic care can help prevent issues from starting and help prevent flareups from previous injuries.
8Does my care plan end or do I have to see a chiropractor for the rest of my life?
Once your pain has decreased and you have motion back in the joints, your active care plan does end. You have the option to choose to do a maintenance visit every 4-6 weeks to prevent flare-ups or other issues, but you are not required to do so.
